Bareboat Sailing Vacations
Bareboat cruising offers the ultimate in freedom and independence.    The British Virgin Islands is considered the sailing Mecca of the world and this is certainly justified.  For the most part you enjoy line of sight cruising with very few open water hazards, a steady breeze and plenty of sunshine.   The beauty of the BVI is that the islands surrounding Tortola offer a good variety of amazing snorkelling sites, as well as great dive sites, beautiful beaches, quiet bays, local bars and restaurants (which means busier bays!) marinas with shops, water fill up stations, dockage and or mooring balls.    So you can be in Benures Bay on Norman Island and have very few, if any, other yachts around you, or you can be in the busier Bight at Norman Islands and have access to two local bars, one being the famous Willy T, and plenty of moorings balls.

Perhaps you are not sure whether you have the experience or qualifications needed by the charter company to take the helm of your own yacht?  Bareboat charter companies generally require that the designated skipper has experience on skippering a similar sized yacht on previous occassions, whether it was on a previous charter with a different company or via boat ownership or sailing back home.  A competent first mate is also required and for some of the larger bareboat catamarans that are currently available in charter, 2 skipper resumes may be required.   Sailing qualifications are useful but not mandatory, and if you are still unsure whether yoru experience will be accepted, we can arrange for pre-approval of your resume prior to confirming your charter.

Why use us to book your bareboat charter? With so many different yachts available and so many different companies to chose from, it can be a daunting task to find what is best for you. So you make ONE phone call to us and we will find the best price for the boat that suits you best.   Living in the BVI,  I get to visit with the charter companies on a regular basis and take advantage of getting to know new staff, new boats and seeing operations first hand.    After discussing your requirements with you, we will forward you a selection of available yachts for the best prices.  Our extra service and experience to you is free yet you would pay the same rate as you would pay to the charter company direct.

Below is a list of charter companies that we work with on a regular basis.   Please keep in mind that any rental fees shown on their websites do not include extra charges such as insurance, fuel etc, and whilst each company has their own policies and charges, they are usually fairly similar.  Of course, when sending you a proposal I will always included the correct extra charges for you.

Booking your Charter.
